Description
These hand beads were handcrafted by the Women of Apamanya Krobo in the Eastern Region. They came together upon realising that they needed to do more to make ends meet. The group is made of fishmongers or farmers. In their free time they come together and talk about their issues, life experiences and business ideas. It is with this they stumbled on the crafting of hand beads idea. They women were on board and so this started their new venture. With time, other women joined to learn how to make these beads which they sold at the market centres as side merchandise alongside their farm produce and fish. The sale of the handbeads came in handy when their normal sale significantly took hits due to the off seasons and abundance.
What stood out about this group was how they welcomed newcomers wholeheartedly and shared their experiences together as women. This significantly tightened the bonds between each woman. They were able to capitalise on their new business venture when passing tourists made rest stops in their community and purchased their merchandise. The efforts made to start the beads making venture is highly appreciated and as such Taimako looks to amplify their efforts by advertising their beads on the crowdfunding platform for interested person and parties to purchase. Our contribution to advertise and market their venture will look to encourage women like those in Apamanya Krobo to endeavour to making ends meet to support themselves and their children in creative ways. This we believe serves as a show of support to all groups attempting various business ventures.
Thank you for supporting the women of Apamanya Krobo by purchasing their beads.
